Business 283

It was a pretty good week. I really enjoyed the readings and assignments, and my $100.00 project is definitely a work in progress. Jesus: The perfect leader was a great talk by President  Kimball. He gave great examples that the Savior possessed and he applied them throughout his. I realized that these are attributes that I need to work on if I want to be successful in business and in life. I thought about the people who I think are great leaders. All of the possessed many of these attributes that the Savior had, and they were leaders who lead and taught by example. I have set up a time to interview my entrepreneur this upcoming week. I have my questions prepared and I am looking forward to to the interview. I liked the entrepreneur hero video. Russ was very successful because he was humble and very patient with his efforts in running and developing his business. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how he gave back a lot of his wealth to others. I think that is a very selfless act, and is very Christlike. It is inspiring to listen to these success stories, and motivates to be a better person, and cause me to think about how I can use my talents to develop something to help the world. Its was a good week!

I thought this weeks class was really good. I really enjoyed all of the readings and videos that were assigned to us. I particularly liked Elder Holland's talk How ever long and hard the road. I always appreciate the encouragement that the apostles give to us.I remember coming home from my mission having no clue about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I was very overwhelming and I had no clue where to start. So I started going to school and got a good job  to support myself. I wasn't looking to get married but I met my wife and were married a year later. We have three children, and  I got a job as firefighter/paramedic a few years after getting married. I am very happy with my life, and when I look back when I got from mission I never thought I would where I'm at today. I know that the lord helped me through my trials, and through these trials I was able to find happiness. The ecorner videos were great. I liked the five whys video. I liked the way he was able to solve problems through educating his employees. He did a great job with gradually helping his employee solve problems that came about. I am impressed with how entrepreneurs focus on helping others get better. I think this is why their companies always succeed.

Business 183

It has been a pretty good week. I feel that I have learned a lot from the readings and videos that I watched. I had never read or listened to President Hinckley’s talk before. It was very powerful and really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I have a daughter who is four and I couldn’t help but think of the challenges that she will from the world, as she gets older. I realized that I have a huge responsibility in teaching correct principles and values that will aid her, as she grows older. I am grateful for the teachings of the Gospel and living prophets who receive revelation to guide us. No matter how much the world changes, as Latter day saints we must not. This is true in our professional careers. It is important that we do nor conform to the world, and stand up for what’s right. I think if we have this mentality in our careers we will be looked at as leaders and people who can be trusted. I have really enjoyed listening to Guy Kawasaki. He is very inspirational and gives a lot of great advice when it comes to the entrepreneur world. I like how Guy is always preaching to do something that will benefit and change the world. I hope and pray that I can create an idea that will help change the world for the better.

Business 283

It has been a pretty good week so far. I have purchased all of the supplies that I needed to start painting addresses for my company. I decided that I am going to ask some of my friends if I can paint their address at a discounted rate, and in return they will tell their friends and neighbors about the service, hopefully creating more business opportunities. I am going to have some competition though. I was at home the other day a man knocked on the door asking if he could paint my address for $20.00. I politely said no, but it got me thinking. I thought $20.00 was to much, but then maybe I thought 10.00 was to little. I came to the conclusion that I need to re-evaluate my price. I think I might start it high then lower it. I really enjoyed the readings this week, especially the video on Bud Brigham. I think the way Bud was able to overcome his childhood by working hard and believing in himself was great great. It was a feel good story and it gave hope to a lot people who are or were in the same situation as Bud. The Hero videos are very inspiring, and provide me with a lot of motivation.

B 283

It has been a pretty good week. I always enjoy the action hero stories. They really inspire me, and create really good thought and discussion with my friends and families. I was really impressed by Desh Deshpande and his life story. I am always amazed when immigrants come to our country and are able to be successful, and I always wonder what would have happened to them if they had not come to this country. Would have they been successful in their own country. I think they would have been successful in some ways, but not like they have been in the U.S. Desh made a great point when he said that people born in America take for granted the opportunities that are given to them to be successful. He’s right. There is a huge sense of entitlement in the U.S, which causes people to be lazy, and not work as hard. For men like Desh it always for greater opportunity and success! The $100.00 project is coming along. I think I have a pretty good idea and a great service that will help people. I think the funding will be easy to obtain, and I think I will be able to make $100.00 pretty easy. Hopefully I can keep my costs down, and make some money.
